Bio Hello. For those who've just joined us, this is your introduction to Blueline Medic. Please pay careful attention as there is a good chance the Dave will be administering a pop quiz at the end. Blueline Medic formed in Melbourne in mid 1999, which is very convenient since they all live there. Guitarist/vocalist Donnie Dureau and guitarist Adrian Lombardi arrived from Caustic Soda, with since-departed drummer Lachlan Hodgson. They were completed - both spiritually and line-up wise - by bassist Dave Snow, formerly of The Bradshaw Figure. Around the time Blueline Medic released their rather cracking debut EP, "A Working Title In Green", they began looking for a new drummer. Last year, after proving he was more fun to be around than a Roland drum machine, Shaun Lohoar, formerly of Rail and Pollyanna amongst others, came onboard. Curiously enough, the drum machine went on to bigger things as a founding member of Madison Avenue and now lives in the Bahamas. Also in 2000 Blueline Medic were signed to Fueled By Ramen, one way cool American indie label (home of The Impossibles and Recover - check 'em out), for whom they recorded their forthcoming debut album, "The Apology Wars" at the famed Inner Ear studio in Washington D.C. with producer J. Robbins. They also toured the United States with the likes of Hot Water Music, Burning Airlines and Samiam and plan to return there later this year. In the most striking example of corporate synergy since Time-Warner merged with AOL, Fueled By Ramen licensed "The Apology Wars" to Redline Records for release in Australia. This made Blueline Medic very happy, as previously they had been buying all of Redline's releases (Big Heavy Stuff, Jebediah/Jimmy Eat World split EP) and now they had a chance to ask for free copies. Many words have been used to describe Blueline Medic's music. Strangely, succulent is not one of them. Here's what Donnie once had to say: "That tense feel, I like having it. We don't like experiencing it in everyday life, but we like having that intensity in our music." As you will soon have the chance to hear on "The Apology Wars", Blueline Medic use two guitars, a bass and a drum to make music that is textured and passionate, where invigorating tunes are allied with incisive lyrics. Their songs may make you jump up and down. Their songs may make you think about certain elements in your life. If Blueline Medic's music did both for you, they would be very happy. bands Prior to forming Blueline Medic the guys were in other bands. Donnie was in Caustic Soda, Adrian in Mid Youth Crisis, David in The Bradshaw Figure and Shaun in Pollyanna. Here are a couple of songs you can download to see what pieces of this puzzle were fit to make Blueline Medic.
